Day 6 - Currumbin Wild life, Shopping at Pacific Fair & BBQ at night
Guess this is the most boring part this trip. Had read good review on Currumbin Wildlife and so decided to give it a try. Had thought that it will be place where we will see many kinds of wildlife but we were totally wrong. The family package was around $100 and it’s a totally a waste of money.
We took a public bus instead of the normal themepark transfer as the one and only themepark transfer is at 1100am. Was told that CWS was not so popular and thus explains the frequency of the bus. Anyway, taking the public bus there is a breeze. The bus stop is just located at a 5mins walk from our apt, frequencies of the bus is every 15mins and the journey is around 30 mins.
We took their park train to tour around the park and immediately came to a conclusion that we had been conned. There are nothing to see with only Emu, Kangaroo, Tasmania, some other types of birds, Koala and a few other type of don’t know what animals. We left the place in less than 2 hrs and thus wasted $100. Most of the animals could be found in Dreamworld. Consolation part is that we managed to take photo with Koala Bear and touch it. This could be done in Dreamworld as well.
Next, we went to Honey World to buy some honey and Manuka honey. This place is just like the distributor of honey and there’s a a section where we can watch the bee pollinating but we didn’t go in. Bought a few bottles of honey and after checking with other shops, it’s a bit cheaper to buy here.
Next, we took a bus to Pacific Fair. Nothing much there as well. Actually its not nothing much, it’s just that we do not have the budget to buy. Kennie and the kids bought a surf board each. Keep pestering to let me buy, can’t imaging bringing these bulky stuff to take a plane.
Went to their supermarket to by stuff for our bbq. Had an unpleasant encounter with the sales girl there. Went back to our part and change to our swimming gear to went to the beach to try out our new surf board. Of course we do not know how to surf but we are still enjoying it. Cam whoring and posing with the surf board. Hehe. Then we went back to our swimming pool and used their jaccuzi.
Enjoying our BBQ at night. With me as the main chef and Kennie as the backup. The pits are just located beside the pool and it’s those electronic type that look more like a teppanyaki pit instead of BBQ pit. We had a fun time bbqing delicious beef and seafood, and enjoying our red wine. Think it’s 1 of the best meal that we have had this trip.
