Day 5 of Bangkok trip
.
We can actually travel the world in downtown Bangkok itself. Terminal 21 is a travel theme retail mall with each floor being dedicated to a city. It is divided into 9 floors with 9 different interesting travel concepts and themes decorated based on well-known and popular streets in cities under one roof such as London, Paris, Rome, Tokyo, Istabul, etc. Even the restrooms go along with the theme.
check out the events board, tastefully done in typical airport flight information board format |
At Toast Box to drink Kennie's favourite Teh Si. Looks nice but it's a disappointment. Think S'pore still have the best Teh Si.
Kennie with her Teh Si. Happy Happy Kennie. |
Terminal 21 passport shopping guide (mall directory). |
Nice but expensive Yogurt |
Kennie with her favourite BBQ cuttlefish |
Some interesting pics of the mall.
Toilet at Level 4 (San Francisco). Kennie with her favourite baking tool. |
San Francisco is known for its sourdough and the toilets at Level 4 San Francisco had adopted that theme |
Hot Air Balloons inside the shopping mall. |
Lunch at MK steamboat. We have high hope before going in but was thoroughly disappointed after trying it. We have always wanted to try the MK in S'pore but I keep saying that the MK in Bangkok is so much cheaper so it's not worth it to eat in S'pore. But after this meal, I think we will not dine in MK again.
Continue exploring other countries after lunch.
The Famous San Francisco Bridge |
Next we went to MBK. Main purpose is to buy local titbits for friends and family members.
Bought some soothing music from this shop outside National Stadium station. |
Fried worm titbits? |
Night Markets outside MBK
Dinner at Som Tam Nua at Siam Square Soi 5 which is renowned for their delectable Issan food, which is Northeastern Thai influenced.
Fried fish is super nice. Fried to perfection. |
We ordered another one of their famous dishes ---Fried Chicken--- Served in a basket, it came sprinkled with crispy fried chopped garlic and fresh spring onion. |
Next we had dessert at Mango Tango. Mango Tango is a small dessert shop which specialises in mango desserts (pudding, beverage, ice cream and the Thai classic Mango Stick Rice) tucked away at a corner of Siam Square. This is the first time that I saw Kennie going crazy over mango sticky rice.
