Day 3 of Bangkok trip

Day 3 was Chatuchak day! We walked to Ratchathewi station to take the BTS to Mo Chit station. It's nearer to walk to Ratchathewi station as compared to Siam station. Chatuchak Weekend Market is one of the MUST-GO places in Bangkok. It's one of the best places to eat, shop and enjoy the day.  It's pretty much similar to the Pasar-malam stalls in Singapore, except that it's 100 x bigger,  many times cheaper and definitely 1000 x more interesting.

Our favourite 10 baht ice stick. It’s actually made from our favourite drinks such as Miranda, Coke, Sprite, Thai Ice Tea, etc. This is what I need on a hot day.
Our lunch at Chatuchak. Think this must be the first full meal that we ate at Chatuchak.

Love their Thai Milk Tea.
Nobody leaves BKK without trying their Coconut ice-cream. I'm not a fan of coconut, but I really love the ice-cream version. I had mine topped with nata de coco. It also comes with a refreshing coconut drink.

We were dead beat after just 3-4 hours of shopping. We did not even manage to shop the inner part of the market. Only shopped at the centre lane. It's a wrong move as the sun was shining directly on us without any shelter to shield us. Must rembr to shop at the inner part of the market for our next visit. Bought quite a lot of stuff from Chatuchak. Was surprised that the stuff are actually quite cheap.

At Chatuchak Park MRT station. Finally an air con place to cool us down.
Our tea break at our favourite Platinum food court.
Kids with their favourite Luk Chup, Luk Chup is a colourful thai dessert shaped like fruits made from mung bean paste, coconut milk and sugar. Tasted a bit like the tao sar (豆沙) in our ang ku kueh (红龟粿). Yummy!

Cosplay at Central World

Dinner at Greyhound Cafe at Siam Center. Greyhound Café is the first fashion café in Bangkok offering the food concept with creative twists in a casual dining experience.

Complicated Noodles. Look a bit like our popiah. It's actually a typical thai minced pork stew, served with the lime and fish sauce chili on the side and fresh lettuce. Greyhound serves it with a twist with square pieces of flat white noodles  - the same noodles you'd commonly find in a vietnamese pho or chinese noodle dish, except for the funky square shape.

chicken wings that are halved, marinated in fish sauce and deep fried. Very yummy.

Guess why our 2 monsters are laughing so happily? Cause Videl released a stink bomb when taking photo.

Dessert time at Mr. Jones’ Orphanage.  Walk inside and we were immediately transported into a fairytale land of cakes and soft toy.  The design and decor of the cake shop is quite impressive,

It has a railway theme with cute bears around it.

The choice of cakes and pastries was simply mind-boggling. Housed in pretty glass domes, each cake was painstakingly baked and decorated. If I could, I would have tried every single one of them!

Night market at Siam Center. Left after a while as we were very tired and it's very hot and crowded at the night market
Took a Tuk Tuk back to our hotel.
