Day 2 of Bangkok trip
Breakfast was at the hotel as it's included in our booking. It was delicious, I have always love hotel's breakfast especially in Bkk. Other than the usual continental breakfast spread of toast, eggs, bacons, sausages, etc, they have a selection of local / Chinese food such as noodles and rice, porridge, etc. There's also fruits, yogurt, ham and cheese, and salad.
The restaurant is just beside the swimming pool. The swimming pool is pathetically small. Luckily we didnt bring our swimming gear.
There's also a small gym beside the restaurant.
Selfie before our shopping starts.
We took the river boat ride from Pratunam stop to BoBae Market. The boat ride was quite cheap and it only took around 20 mins to reach our destination. It was quite an experience taking the river boat. There's a part when the water splashed on us. OMG. Not sure if the water is clean or not, which we doubt so.
BoBae Market is a wholesale market for inexpensive garment clothing. This market is similar to Pratunam and platinum plaza selling wholesale clothes and retail. But we still prefer Platinum Mall as the clothes at BoBae Market is not very fashionable. Was there for only about 2 hours.
Boat ride back to Pratunam. I was only given a small area to sit. So ke lian. Haha.
But at least I have a place to sit. My 3 Bao Beis have to stand for the whole journey back.
Lunch at the famous chicken rice stall at Pratunam. Read from the net that the pink shirt stall is the more famous one while the green shirt stall is the local's favourite. But from our observation, business at the green shirt stall is not very good while the pink shirt stall is packed with locals. So which stall to choose? Of course we chose the pink stall. What makes it special is their soup which is cooked from lots of chicken bone and they have pig blood which is our favourite. As for the rice and chicken, our S'pore Hainanese chicken rice is still the best.
We spend the rest of the day shopping at Platinum Mall.
Diner at Once Upon A Time. It is located at Soi 17, Phetchburi Rd., Pratunam, . It's located at a small lane just beside our hotel.
The restaurant was coverted from an old teak house filled with antiques and it was nice and cosy. Alfresco dining looks very romantic but we were afraid of being bitten by mosquitoes so we chose to sit indoor.
Nice napkin wrapped into a flower |
Kennie and Veona were very excited when they saw the beautiful "flowers" and started taking photos with it. |
Look at what cheeky Videl is trying to do with the napkins. |
The food is realy yummilicious. Authentic Thai food in a nice ambience. Will definitely be back again when we revisit Bkk. We have almost the whole restaurant to ourselves as we were early.
Veona's new frd. Think is the Boss's son. |
We called for the bill and it was presented in a huge wooden box.
