Cosmo World Indoor Themepark - the biggest themepark in Malaysia.

It used to be the kids' favourite themepark when they were younger. It seems that they had outgrown most of the rides now but they are still enjoying all the baby rides. Too bad they couldn't play most of the adult thrill rides as the minimum height is 1.4m. We left after 3 hours as we didn't want to waste the whole day playing the rides over and over again.

Our lunch at Timeless Penang at Berjaya Time Sq. Not nice. Went to the Pasar Malam at Petaling Street. The whole place is surrounded with stalls that sell the same imitation goods like imitation T-shirts, handbags, wallets, sunglassess etc. Quite boring cause there's basically nothing much if you are not here for imitation goods so we left shortly.

We went on a makan spree at Jalan Alor and Tengkat Tong Shin. Tengkat Tong Shin is 1 street behind Jalan Alor. There's quite a no. of boarding house here.

We didnt have enough of the grilled chicken wing yesterday so we are back for more today. We ordered only the grilled chicken wings this time leaving more space in our stomach for other delicacies. We watched the man grilling the chicken wings skillfully while waiting for our food to arrive at out table. But I sympathize the man as I wonder how much soots he has breathed in.

Ngau Kee Beef Noodle at Tengkat Tong Shin. The soup version is very much like what we have in S'pore except that the soup tasted differently from ours. The dried version is completely different from ours. Minced beef is ladled over the noodles accompanied with their special sauce. A bit too sweet to our liking but with their special chilli sauce, it tasted wonderful. A separate bowl of soup with sliced beef is served with the dried version.

Mixed version which include beef brisket, beef slices, beef tripe and beef balls. The beef balls are very nice.


Loitering at 1 of the hotel's lobby while waiting for the next stall we are patronising to open. We are too early as the shop only open at 8pm. Sian.. have to wait for almost 2 hours.

The last stop for the night was the fried noodle stall that is located across the road (almost directly opposite Ngau Kee's Beef Noodle stall). Located in a dark alley where the only source of light is from a single bright flourescent light at the cooking station. The old man is known as Man Sook (Slow Uncle in cantonese) as he slowly takes his time to cook.

Cantonese Fried Hor Fun mixed with Bee Hoon. A very innovative dish cause we can have both Hor Fun and Bee Hoon in 1 dish.
His signature dish - Fried Mee Suah. The Mee Suah is deep fried till crispy and is then fried together with lots of cabbage, beansprouts, a few eggs, prawns, sotong and pork slices. Crunchy, crispy and fragrant are the words to describe this dish.

Taking advantage of the long weekend (Hari Raya Haji), we went on a short getaway to Kuala Lumpur this weekend.

As we were worried that we might be trapped in the jam like previous trip to Malacca, we reached 2nd link at 4.45 am. Clearing the custom (3omins to clear both customs) is a breeze as traffic is very smooth at this hour. Wanted to stop for bf at the first rest area after custom but it was not opened. So we headed to the rest area after Malacca. The journey there is a bit scary as the sky is still very dark so I kept to the safe speed limit with the high beam on for the whole of the journey.

We reached KL at 8.45am and as it was still early, we went to Petaling Street (KL Chinatown) and had the famous Hon Kee Porridge 汉记靓粥 for bf. The easiest way to find Hon Kee is to look for Hong Leong Bank in Petaling Street. Hon Kee is directly opposite the bank. We ordered the pork innards porridge (with generous serving of pig heart, tongue, fried intestines and god knows what is inside), raw sliced fish and additional serving fried intestines. I love the smooth texture of the porride and the raw sliced fish is also one of the nicest that I have ever eaten. The raw fish slices garnish with sesame oil, ginger slivers and coriander leaves which we can eat it raw or dip into the hot porridge which will be cooked almost instantly. IMO, the fish will taste even nicer if it's served straight from the fridge.

Another must try at Petaling Street is the fried sweet potato balls located outside the Tang City Food Court. Only 2RM for a bag of 10 balls (ping pong sized). They are crunchy and golden brown on the outside and soft and sweet inside

As it was still early before we can check-in to our hotel, we went to KLCC for some shopping. Our main motive here is to try the A&W as Kennie has a craving for it since our last Malacca trip. We were thoroughly disppointed with it as the waffle is too dry and hard. The ice cream for the waffle and root beer is also pathetically small.

Most of the shops are having sales now as Malaysia is having her Mega Malaysia Sales. & because of the sales and high exchange rates, the things are still quite affordable.

Checked-in at 1pm. They are kind enough to let us check-in at this timing though the official check-in timing is 3pm. Slacked in the room for a while and went shopping at Berjaya Time Sq and Sungei Wang. Our hotel (Hotel Equatorial) is conveniently located near Raja Chulan Monorail Station and is only 2 stations to Berjaya Time Sq(Imbi Station). The ticket is also very affordable at RM1.20 for 2 stations but the children share the same fare as the adult.

The finale of the night. Dinner at Wong Ah Wah located at No. 1 Jalan Alor which is a few streets behind Berjaya Time Sq. Jalan Alor is a street famous for their makan. & of course we visted the best of the best in Jalan Alor. Wong Ah Wah made a really big name for themselves as the best grilled chicken wings in town and after trying it, I can loudly say that it's the best grilled chicken wing that I have ever eaten. It is so delicious that Kennie who is not a chicken lover, finished the whole wing and not even a bit of skin or meat is left. Perfectly marinated, the outer layer of the chicken wings are grilled perfectly till it's crispy and covering the succulent, juicy and tender chicken meat.

I'm really getting demoralised recently as things don't seem to go smoothly for me. It seems that hardworking people are easily exploited by others while the slacker/incompetent gets away with doing less. Sigh.. That's the reality of life or maybe I should join them. hmmm... that seems like a good idea.

Kids are also getting more and more out of hand. They are so used to talking back to us now. Think they have outgrown the age where they are afraid of getting scolded. Think they will only listen if we ban them from doing things that they like or even ask them to go to bed early.

I met Zhixiong, my childhood friend today. He said that I have seldom mixed with them now after I got married and have become a loner. He actually felt sad for me that I'm just leading a mundane life. Work, home & family. Actually I do not think it's a sad thing. Isn't it a luxury to spend the night with our family? Isn't our spouse supposed to be our dearest and also our best friend? We can always confide with our spouse and do not have to worry that he/she will tell the whole world the next moment or event backstabbed us. Anyway, to each his own.

Cheap cheap Dim Sum - $1.50 for a basket but not very nice, not even comparable to the one at Kopitiam food Court.

Karin brought the kids to church and we went to collect Kennie's laptop at Wisma Sony. Went shopping for Christmas presents. Market is bad this year but it's still a must to get everyone a present.

Had a sudden craving for Fish Head Steamboat so we head down to Blk 90 Whampoa Drive Food Centre. There are quite a few stalls selling the steamboat and we tried Cai Li Fish Head Steamboat @ #01-70. Was thoroughly disappointed with it as the food is super oily. The soup is oily, the vegetables is oily and the omelette is covered with a layer of oil which we initially thought it's water/stock. The fish is also very pathetic as they give us a lot of tails. We ordered the sliced fish instead of fish head. Instead of sliced fish, they served us fish tails. Think Keng Fish Head Steamboat at Balestier is so much better.

Bf with mum at Bukit Batok Central followed by shopping with her at West Mall. Uncle Huat is working today so she has more time for us. Keke.. I'm so jealous cause Uncle Huat took away most of mum's time.

This chicken rice is still here after more than a decade. Mum used to buy the chicken rice for me when I was a teenager.

The boss of this minced meat noodle stall is my NS friend, Chew. Recently heard that he has just lost his job and now has opened his own stall. Wish him all the best. Huat ah..
Doing a rehearsal for the show in the afternoon. The magic show they rehearsed is so lame, think can only fool 3 years old kids.

It has been months since I met up with Sis and family. Everyone is busy as we have our family to attend to and also other commitement. So since we have a bit of time today, we meet them at Lot one for a short chat and shopping.

Videl went to friend's bday party while we went rounding with our GPS. Setting 2 GPS to bring us around S'pore. Must get use to using it or we will lost our way in KL but it seems that it's not really very stable. Both GPS took a long time to detect the satellite and it jammed easily.
