Good Friday & KL Trip Day 1

Went on a short trip to KL today. A last minute decision as we didnt want to spend the long weekend in Sg. Woke up at 4am and left home at 4.45am. Drove non-stop from Sg to KL and reached KL at 8.30am. Feeling is so shiok as I enjoyed driving and it's another record for me and my little car. Maybe next time I will try further places like Cameron Highland or Trengganu. The journey there is quite smooth except for some hiccup at the custom. The GPS that David lend is also very irritating. Keep warning us that we were not following the speed limit, or we were near camera and road block zone.

Breakfast at Chinatown (Jalan Petaling). We had the sliced fish and porridge at Hon Kee Porridge and it tasted much beter today as compared to previous visit. Right next to Hon Kee Porridge is a very famous chee cheong fun stall. The chee cheong fun is very different from our version. It looks more like kway teow flavoured with sweet and chilli sauce. The colour of the sweet is also different from ours, dark brown versus red. The chee cheong fun tasted much better then ours as it's smoother but I don't really like the sauce.

Decided to try our luck to check in to our hotel after BF. Circled around Bukit Bintang a few times as the GPS only brought us to Bukit Bintang but couldn't recognise the house no. In the end, had to rely on the map that was printed out from Google Map to find the hotel. The outside of the hotel and lobby looked pathetically small and very rundown. The worse part is that the room stink as the carpet smells of Hong Kong Legs and it seems like they have not changed the bed sheet cover for ages. But the hotel is ideally located in the heart of the Golden Triangle surrounded with shopping and food paradise, just a few mins walk to Berjaya Time Sq, and right in front of Sungei Wang and behind Jalan Alor (famous food street). Oh btw, the hotel is so nice to let us check-in at 11am.

Spend the rest of the day shopping at Sungei Wang and Berjaya Time Sq. The clothes there is surprisingly cheap as compared to previous trip. A dress cost less than S$10 and as usual, Kennie was buying almost everything that caught her eyes.

Our lunch at Restoran Overseas at Imbi Road. They are widely known for offering exquisite contemporary Cantonese cuisine. Their speciality is their char siew and advance order must be made. Too bad, didn't get a chance to eat it as we didnt order in advance. The service is also very good as the staff is always smiling and making sure that our requests were taken care off.

Complimentary Soup of the Day. Everyone of us has a bowl. Though it's free, it tasted so nice.

Fried toufu with bittergourd. The toufu is so fragrant and softtttttt.... I love toufu.. keke. all men love to eat toufu

Claypot duck.

Another of their specialities. Salted fish with pork belly - thinly sliced fatty pork with dried chili as well as salted fish.

Vege with century egg

After lunch, we continued with our shopping spree. Eat and Shop, Shop and Eat. It's like paradise.

Our dinner at Wong Ah Wang Jalan Alor. Nice Nice. We missed the bbq chicken wing so much.

Wanted to have Supper at Man Sook but it's not opened. So disappointed.

The carpark at out hotel. Super high tech. My car is actually hidden below this car. A press of a button and my car will raise up.
