A belated bday treat to Karin at Ju Shin Jung Charcoal Korean BBQ which is located just opposite Haw Par Villa.

Went to fetch Lucas and Karin at her house. An exciting experience as we were actually avoiding someone. Very frightening cause we were worried that he might be spying on us. Sweat.

Now to start my review on this restaurant. Was craving for some BBQ food so decided to come here since I have heard great review about this place but has never had a chance to try it. Ambience looks ok with the corner of the restaurant surrounded with Korean/Japanese style sitting arrangement. Was shocked to see the price of the menu as a portion of wagyu beef for person cost $50+. Actually wanted to u-turn and walk out.

After ordering the main dishes of beef, chicken and pork, the staff brings on a large range of korean side dishes which consisted of tofu, yummy kimchi, seaweed soup, different types of vege, lotus root and the list goes on and on. Not forgetting as well is the long plate of lettuce and other vege to wrap with the BBQ meat. Is this call fusion? The combination of healthy and unhealthy food. Haha

We do not need to lay a finger to BBQ as the staffs actually helped us to BBQ.

This is definitely a place to come for beef lover as they have all types of beef, cut and marinated for BBQing. But the price is at a higher side. There's also cheap set lunch served during weekday.

The queue is still very long even after we finished

Menu for BBQ item

Plain water and Barley Tea. The Barley Tea is very nice. Just the right drinks to quench our thirst after eating the heaty food

Menthol sweets before dinner?

Hehe... it's actually a capsule tissues which requires you to pour water on it, to turn into normal wet paper towels..
A playhouse for you to dump your kids before the food comes

Side dishes. Btw, it's free flow.
Marinade Beef Rib. Too sweet to our liking
Wagyu Beef. Nice Nice!!!
Marinade Chicken.
Pork Collar. It's suppose to be their signature dish but after eating Wagyu Beef, we actually felt that the meat is too tough and dry.

Pumpkin soup.
Dipping sauces

My Wagyu beef wrapped with lettuce and kimchi
Forget what it's call. Some Korean spicy seafood soup I think

After a filling dinner, our quest for dessert started. There's always room for dessert. Tucked at a ulu corner at 10 Raeburn Park, Marketing Institute of Singapore(former Gan Eng Seng School) , there's this ice cream shop. Initially we thought we might have come to the wrong place as it's so ulu with no human traffic. Not wanting to pay for the parking fee, we parked our car outside the school and walked in. My first thought was even if the ice cream shop is there, it should be closed. Maybe it's catered for the students in the school. Was told that it's still open by the security and we let out a sigh of relief. My second thought came to mind, it must be something good or it won't be opened at such timing (around 8+pm)at such ulu place. Was disappointed to see that there's not even a single customer but since we came so far, we decided to try it. But to our surprise, a row of tables was reserved. hmmm.. so there's a possibility that it's good afterall.

After checking out the menu, it seems that seventh heaven is not like the normal ice cream shop. It targets more towards the mature market as there's alcohol content in most of their flavours.

Sad to say, we do not have enough cash with us(only $20+) and credit card is accepted only for $50 and above so we only ordered 3 scoops of ice cream. As for whether it's good or not? IMO, it's just so so only, maybe because we didn't ordered the main dessert. Will be back for more ice cream and dessert.
