Blanco Court Kway ChapHaving craving for kway chap so surfed the net and found this place. Heard that it's from the famous Blanco Court Kway Chap that was shifted here a few years back. Not sure if it's a spin off from the original one cause a search in the net and you will find a few more stalls claiming they are the original one e..g Garden Street Kway Chap at Serangoon Gardens Food Centre and To-Ricos Kway Chap at Old Airport Rd Food Centre. So which is the original one? Who cares, as long as their food is nice.
I give a thumbs up for this stall. The braising sauce was good, the kway was smooth and the innards were stewed very well, relatively tender
We realised that the kway chap stall that is a few stalls away from Blanco Kway Chap attracts more customers. So we decided to give it a try as well.
Verdict: Not very nice. The innards have a very weird taste, maybe it's not cleaned properly and thus explains the weird taste. The cinnamon taste in the sauce is too strong. But how come it has come customers? Maybe because it's cheaper. Blanco Kway Chap only gave me 1 egg and no salted vege for a 2 person serving but this stall give me 1 egg and salted vege for a 1 person serving.
Went to Taka for their Hokkaido food fair after Veona's tuition. The brochure that we received from Taka looks so tempting with delicious looking Bento Set, Ramen, etc. But was disppointed to see that the food fair is relatively small with only a few stalls. Food was quite ex, Bento Set and Ramen cost around $20. Might as well eat at a restaurant for this price tag. The food don't seems fresh too.
The only thing that we bought but really cmi.
Fried Sotong. $6 per pack
Fried Salomon. $5 per pack
Since we didn't have enough of Jap food at the fair, we ended at Tampopo. The original stall at Liang Court tasted much better and the service here is also not very good. Maybe because there are too many trainees here and they look so blur. They do not even know how to greet the customers and they looked so gloomy.
