Happy Birthday Singapore. Though I'm physically not in Singapore, I'm still very patriotic cause I was in in red and white today. Too bad I missed the mass pledge reciting at 8.22pm. It was already 830pm when I remembered it but nevertheless, I still proceed to recite. keke.
Our Bf at Hotel 806. Nothing fantastic compared to 4/5 stars hotel but it's worth every cent to stay in this hotel. Checked out after bf and drove to Hotel Equatorial to park our car.
Went sight seeing at Fort A Famosa and other historic sites. Didn't really enjoy visiting all this places but this trip would not's be complete without it. Anyway, it's FOC and the weather is still quite cooling at that timing.
Lunch at Dessert 88 again. We tried the nonya baba laksa, rendang curry rice and mango ice kachang. Mango ice kachang is a bit unique cause they pour in the gula melaka but we stil prefer their chendol.
Went shopping at Dataran Pahlawan Mall and Mahkota Parade again. Boring place. Actually a 2 days 1 night trip is enough. There's really nothing much in Malacca town but we have not finished all the nice food here so we decided to stay for 2 nights.
Lunch at Restoran Nyonya Suan. It's located along Jalan Plaza Mahkota 3, a row of shop houses beside the new Newton Food Court, a stone's throw away from Mahkota Parade and the newer Pahlawan shopping centre. We have to wait for an hour to be seated as the restaurant was fully booked by tour groups. Still prefer the food at Restoran Peranakan but there are more varieties here and the price is very reasonable.
Kennie with her new bag. Act Cute!
Chilli Sotong but quite disappointed cause the sotong is not fresh
Chap Cai (Mixed Vege). 1 of the nyonya delicacy
Salted Vege & Duck Soup. Is that a nyonya dish as well?
Chinchalok Omelette
Hot Spicy & Sour Fish
A whole pot of rice all for us. Not use to the rice in Malacca. Tasted very horrible imo. I missed my Thai Fragrant Rice
Chendol!!! Apparently, the chendol here is also quite well known.
Went back to Hotel Equatorial to check in. Sigh.. what a disappointment. Room was pretty small with only 2 single sized beds. Sian. Need to squeeze 2 person in 1 bed. The bedsheet was stained and the they are still using the old fashioned TV, while Hotel 906 is using a LCD TV. But of course it's really very convenieint here as it's just beside Pahlawan Parade.
Since we paid so much for the room, we must definitely use their facility so we brought the kids for a swim.
Dinner at Capitol Satay Celup at Bukit Cina. It's the best Satay Celup in Malacca. We were there before 6 (they were opened at 5) and the place was already full house. There's more than 10 groups waiting in the queue. We queued for an hour and was hoping that we will enjoy the food. But it's really overated. Definitely not worth queuing or I should say, it's not even worth visiting even without the queue. Satay Celup is just like the normal lok lok but instead of cooking in plain water, it's cooked in satay sauce. We were at first quite skeptical that they might reuse the satay sauce but it seems like they changed it cause beside the satay sauce, they added in more powder form stuff in it when they brought in the satay sauce. Anyway, it's not really very hygenic cause the staff will come and stir the sauce quite often and they used the same scoop to stir for every tables.
Chendol at San Su Gong before the night ended. The packaging is quite impressive.
