Day 2 Bangkok Trip
Bf at 78th floor. Quite disppointed with the spread as it's quite limited as compared to some of the hotels in Bangkok. The place is also quite pack and with many Kaisu Tourists pushing here and there to get their food. Who say Singaporean is Kaisu? Those from other countries are even more kaisu.

We had a bad experience with a Tuk Tuk driver. Decided to take a Tuk Tuk to Erawan Shrine as we were lazy to walk. Was quoted 40Bht by the driver and we agreed to the price, and so we boarded the Tuk Tuk. We were then told that it's an offence to ferry so many people (3 adults and 2 children) and the driver told us to take 2 Tuk Tuk, and the price is still the same. We keep telling the driver that we wanted to be together and will only take 1 Tuk Tuk. He drove us to an alley and another Tuk Tuk driver followed us. He told us that the other Tuk Tuk driver is his son and wanted to bring us to some Gem shop. We turned them down and we got off his Tuk Tuk. Quite worried that we might be robbed by them. It's lucky that nothing happened in the end.
We walked to Erawan Shrine to pay our respect to the famous 4-face Buddha. We are not sure of the sequence to pray and ended praying at the wrong direction. Soo Mee and Ah Hock didn't join us as they went for a half day tour to Grand Palace and other larger Temples.
The dancers will dance for the buddha. Think we need to buy quite a high price to get them to dance for the buddha THis should be the holy water. Supposed to wash your hands, face etc after worshipping.
We took the BTS to Siam station from Chit Lom station. Should have just walked from the Erawan Shrine to Siam. We visited Siam Ocean World. The entrance fee is very expensive which cost around 30 SGD per pax. The experience is good though as there's many rare species of fishes and sea creatures that we have never seen before. The entrance fee also include the glass bottom Boat ride around the aquarium where we can see the fishes from the glass panel in the boat. There's also the 4-D show in the theatre but it's nothing compare to the 4D show at Sentosa and HK Disneyland.
Before boarding the Glass Bottom Boat
There's a glass in the boat which we can see the fishes under us
The sharks are just under us. Scary! Karin touching the snake Veona also dare to touch it
Inside the 4-D theatreLunch at Fuji Jap Restaurant. The deco is quite nice but too bad we couldn't take photo. That's something very different from Sg. We are not allowed to take photo at almost all the shops and restaurants in Bangkok. Maybe they are worried that we might copy their deco and concept. Food not really very fantastic but it's quite affordable.
The sashimi are not very fresh. Had a hard time biting some of them The chawamushi is quite nice Ebi Tempura. Sides
Teapot soup
Grilled sotong BeefSauce for the beef Cabbage wrap with salamon. It looks more like a vietnam dish. Sauce for the salmon wrap
After lunch, we walked to MBK. Supposed to meet Soo Mee at Pathuwan Princess but she didn't turn up. So we continued shopping on our own but there's nothing much to buy there as the price is higher as compared to Pratunam/Platinum Mall. So coincidence, managed to meet Soo Mee at MBK.
We took the BTS To Saphan Taksin and transferred to the Chao Phraya Express Ferry to Yaowarat (Chinatown) for dinner. We have to walk quite a distance before we reached the restaurant. Along the way, we managed to find the original shop that sells the Bangkok goodies. So ended buying many packet of goodies to give to our friends and family members.
The shop selling the thai goodies
Dinner at T&K. The food is average again. Not really those authentic thai food but it's a mixure of Thai & Chinese Cusine but it's really very cheap. We had prawn, crab, fish, sotong, tom yum soup, vege and drinks and it only cost 90SGD for 7 pax.
We went to Nam Sing for Bird Nest after dinner. We had the grade 2 bird nest and it costed around 20+SGD for a small bowl. The taste is average and it's definitely not worth dining here.
Steam fish Claypot shark fin
Fried Vege Fried rice with crab meat Tom Yum soup
Curry Crab. Crab fried with chilli BBQ sotong
500bht bird nest. I swear I will never eat at Nam Sing again Boxes of expensive bird nest on displayNext, we took a cab to Saphan Phut (Memorial Bridge Night Market). The cab driver let the 7 of us squeeze in his cab. Saphan Phut is a night market for the local and we hardly see a tourist there. Some of the stuff there could be quite cheap. It's started to rain and we took a cab back to the hotel. Cab fare only costed around 4SGD though there's a jam.
