Longshan Temple
Beitou Hotspring, Hell Valley and Hotspring Musuem
Fisherman Wharf
Danshui Lao Jie
We visited Longshan temple in the morning which is just opposite Longshan MRT station. The 200+ year old temple looks very majestic. There's different halls for the different type of gods in the temple. As it looks too complex, we didn't offer incense to the gods but just toured around the temple.
There's a very nice fish bee hoon stall beside Longshan Temple. The pig intestine is the best that I ever tried. Will definitely come back again if I ever visit Taipei.
We proceeded to Xinbeitou station for the hotspring. We walked past Sweetme resort (wanted to try it but thought that there's better deal further in) which is just opposite the station. Visited the Hot Spring Museum which is free. Nothing much in this Museum except for some basic knowledge on the Hot Spring .
Walked pass the public hot spring ( thought can peep into it but we need to pay the entrance fee before we can go inside) and walked further in to the Hell Valley. Can feel the heat when we walked past it.
Walked further in to look for a good Hot Spring resort. Wanted to try Asia Pacific Resort but the journey up the slope was killing Kennie and Videl. In the end we settled down for Lotus-spa Hot Spring Hotel which is a real mistake. The place look just like a normal hotel room without the bed and with a bigger bath tub. It's really nothing compared to the nice decoration in Asia Pacific Resort. But it's really very relaxing after the session and it's lucky that there's free shuttle bus or we will be sweating like mad again.
The free shuttle service provide to & fro ferry service between those big Hot Spring Resorts and Beitou MRT. We only realized it after we took the shuttle bus from Lotus-spa.
Next we took the train to Danshui MRT and took Bus 26 to Fisherman wharf. The view there is fantastic and it's crowded with people and their dogs. Taiwanese love dogs and you can see them with their dogs everywhere, even in MRT.
We took a ferry back to Danshui Lao Jie. There's a long queue waiting for the ferry to Pali. Quite curious what's in Pali. Danshui Lao Jie is just a street that sells food, lots of food. Our favorite is the BBQ Sotong.
Very famous Tie Dan (Metal Egg). Don't really like it as it's very hard. Still prefer our braised egg
1 of the fishball soup stall. It's crowded with people. The fishball is like our Fuzhou fishball. There's minced meat in it.
We bought Ah Zong Mee Suai back to hotel for supper. The sauce and the mee suai are really really very nice but not for the pork intestine. It's very hard and chewy.
