Close up view of the ferris wheel. Can't wait to take a ride on it.

Super hot weather.

Ugly Singaporean putting her legs up on the chair.

The show this year is a bit cock up. The Emcee didn't announce the names of the parachutist. Normally they will announce the parachutist has attempted how many jump before.
Landed safely.

The parade is formed up and ready for your inspection, SIR!

Singing the National Anthem

F16 saluting to Singapore

The "president" inspecting the parade

Salutes from the Artillery. The first time we catch it live.

rappelling down the sheared bridge.

Garang Soldier

Apache

This year's special "Flying Jelly fish"

We went to watch NDP rehearsal today. The tickets were given by Prema as she's in the organizing committee. The weather is really very hot. Feel like going home after a while.

Anyway the show is more eventful this year. It's the 1st time the NDP is held on a floating bridge. There's dragon boat competition, SOF rappelling down from Sheares Bridge to the sea, performance by Apache and many more. Can even see the artillery fired the 21 shots from the opposite coast. It's really one special NDP show that I have ever watched. Didn't catch the firework as we rushed off earlier to beat the crowd.

Visited Sharon today. Her son is very cute and he looks very much like Gerald. Sharon put on 10kg after delivery and a bit auntyly now. But bet she will try all means to slim down.

Went to Ubi to install a new shock absorber for my car. Cause the stock absorber in my ride really CMI. It's so bumpy and I hate the feeling. Feel like seating in a tank. But anyway. can't really feel any difference after changing it. Still as bumpy as ever. Sigh. Think I have wasted $400+. (afternote: think the shock absorber is not season when I just installed it. It's not so bumpy now)

Kennie and I had our dinner at a wine restaurant at Farm Mart. The food is quite cheap and they sell a large varieties of wine. Bought a bottle of cheapo red wine to go along with our food.

We went Dragonfly but too bad, we went back before 12 cause I have a very bad headache. Guess it's caused by the hot weather made worse by the alcohol.

I'm back to work!!!! Actually don't have any mon blue but my mind keep wandering to Taipei. Miss the food and the shopping so much. Think I'm addicted to travel. Planning to go to Bangkok or Club Med Bintan during the Sept or Dec School Holiday. Haha. But don't have any budget this year. Feel so sleepy in the afternoon. Trying to keep myself awake.

Sunday, June 24, 2007

1 more day before I'm back to work. Kennie went back to office to OT so guess she won't feel any Mon Blue tmr. Sometime I prefer to work alone to clear any outstanding work as there won't be any disruption by phone calls, boss or colleagues.

The kids had their piano lesson as usual and went to Jurong West extension for Crabs.

Birthday boy making his wish

Brought the kids to Fajar Macdonald to celebrate Jin Rui's birthday. The kids invited are all staying at the same floor of my in law. So sweet. Their relationship with each other is very close.

Which one is Princess Fiona?

Veona with her new friend cutting the birthday cake

Karin brought the kids to Bukit Merah Macdonald for the Shrek party. The ticket costs $12 for 1 child and imo is quite ex. They have games, lucky draw, Macdonald lunch and birthday celebration for Jun birthday kids. Veona is one of the birthday kids. What a belated celebration, 23 days overdue.

While the kids were having their fun, I went down to my Aunt's wake. My family didn't join me cause I was not really on close term with her family. Dad called me yesterday to request that I go down on his behalf as he was not able to come back. My Aunt had senile dementia for many years and this was the cause of her death. Didn't know that senile dementia will lead to death. Had a chats with my cousins which I seldom did. I have not seen both of them for almost a decade.

We went to dempsey road for durians and the vendors were already packing up at 6+ and we thought they were just opening their stall. Luckily we had already made reservation. We had 3 smaller size durians ($40) this time and it's not enough to satisfy my craving.

We watched Fantastic 4 at lot 1 with Kevin and his family. I like to watch superheroes movie like superman, spiderman etc. The next in line should be Transformers.

Woke up at around 12 today. So tired after 7 days of shopping and fun. Having post overseas blue now. Luckily we still have 3 more days to rest before we start work and school reopen.

Visited Mum and Mother in law to pass the goodies and some souvenirs for them. Had craving for sushi so went to Jurong sports complex for the cheap but nice sushi. Suay Suay kana parking summon of $6.

Jodie came over our house to stay. Guess she must have missed the kids.

Taipei Trip - Day 7

Cashbox KTV
Ximending
Airport
Home sweet home

Good time always past very fast. It's our last few hours in Taipei. No more shop shop shop, eat eat eat. But life will still goes on.

Not wanting to waste our last few hours in Taipei,we woke up early today to sing K. As mentioned earlier, the lobby is just like a hotel lobby. Grand and big. We were directed to our room and though it's only 4 of us, we were given a room large enough for 8 pax. The sound system was great and there's even a toilet in each room.

Hi tech setup

Our Breakfast - Beef noodle

Dim sum

Prawn porridge- the prawns are really large and fresh

& fruits

The toilet bowl. The blue label is like a QC check certifying that the toilet had been cleaned

The total bill is only NT$1200(less than $60) which includes 3 hrs of singing, cover charge for 2 adults, 1 jug of coke, 2 bowls of prawn porridge, 1 bowl of beef noodle and 3 trays of dim sum. Where can we find such a great deal in S'pore.

We checked out from the hotel at 12 pm and still has 3 hrs to do some last min shopping. Bought some hello kitty bags and wallets. So disappointed that we didnt get to try the hotpot buffet at Rainbow Hotel as we are running out of time. Went to the swinging theme restaurant instead. The food is quite like the Hong Kong cafe in S'pore but is definitely much better.

Seating on the swing in the restuarant

Reached airport at around 4+. Shopped around for more goodies for friends and had the beef noodle there. Not very nice as the beef smell is very strong.

Last few shots in Taipei

Reached back S'pore at around 11 pm. Was shocked that Kevin, Alison, Karin and Jodie came to fetch us. We had 3 big luggages. A few packets of hand carry stuff and our sling bags. Luckily there's 2 cars or we will not be able to squeeze all our luggages into 1 car.

Finally back home after 7 days. The house still look the same. Haha. Luckily no one break into our house. We unpacked our luggages and finally got to sleep at 3+.

Taipei Trip - Day 6

Leo Foo Village
Shilin Market

Guess the kids must have enjoyed themselves the most today. We visited Leo Foo Village which is a themepark that's much bigger and fun as compared to Escape Themepark, HK Ocean Park and HK Disneyland. But the entrance tickets are quite ex. Around NT$1000 for adult and NT$600 for child which include entrance ticket and transport. Kennie got a discount of NT$100+ using the Youth Travel pass. We took a train to Jingan station and transferred to a bus. The journey took around an hr and it's the same bus that's going to Xiao Ren Guo (Tiny land. Will visit Xiao Ren Guo if I go Taipei again.

At the entrance

Show time schedule

This is quite similar to the one we had in the UK funfair. But the speed is much faster.

The kids pretending to take the ride

Kennie: Where is Raymond?

Raymond: Count me out!!

The scenery in the Themepark is very pretty.

Nice boat ride but the weather is very hot

A kind soul volunteered to take the pic for us. It's in the Viking. It's more scary than any Viking that I have taken before

This turn 360 degree round and round

This is very fun. It moves at a very fast speed to and fro.

Taken before we tried it. Stress look.

Kennie with her favorite animal (Chimpanzee)

Raymond and Ostrich.

Naughty Baboons. 1 of them even ran near our bus and wanted to climb onto it.

Lazy lioness sleeping. Open the legs so big. No etiquette

Magnificent white Tiger. Had a hard time taking its photo cause it keep moving around

Cute camel but a bit smelly

So tiring. We need to cycle to make it move

We got stuck on a slope and waited for almost 10 mins before someone fixed it

After an enjoyable day in Leo Foo Village, we went to Shilin Night Market for dinner. This is the food section which is directly opposite Jiantan station. IMO, there's nothing much there as they are selling almost the same food.

Stall selling BBQ sotong, hotdog and BBQ chicken backside (they call it qi li xiang)

Trying the chicken backside. Not very nice as compared to the one I had in Kaoshung years back

Kennie didn't really like it cause it's too fatty.

Oyster omelette stall.

Not very nice as the sauce is very sweet and the omelette is very soggy

Res House

The Red House is just opposite Ximending and very near our hotel. The first floor serves as a venue for the arts, and the second floor serves as a theater. There's some kind of gay party a few nights back. Didn't dare to take any pics as we were worried that they might bash us.

Went back to Cashbox KTV again but was told that the kids must leave after 11.30 pm as it's the goverment rule. In the end, we didn't go in as it's already 10.30 pm.
