Kelong Day 1

Woke up early and catch a train to Bedok. Had BF at the Hawker Centre beside Bedok Interchange and we took a bus to TMFT.

Horrible Laksa. This stall was featured in Quan Yifeng and Kym Ng's variety show (Save the stall) but it still taste as horrible after been saved.

The ferry ride took around 1.45 hrs and we were too slow to board the ferry and ended in the smoking deck. Was quite surprised that we cleared the custom within minutes though there's a queue. Transferred to a van and the journey took another 45 mins. So unlucky. It started to rain when we were boarding the van but luckily it just a passing run.

Was disappointed when we reached the Kelong. The whole place look quite rundown and there is no air-con which we thought that there will be. Think we are back to primitive life.

The toilet. Need to collect the water before use as the flow of the water is too slow. The water from the basin is channeled to the sea. Wonder where the poo poo from the toilet will be flushed to.

Our disappointment changed to excitement when we saw our lunch. They served us many dishes and served in 2 portions. We have to tell the boss to cut down the serving for subsequent meals.

For the rest of the afternoon, we played pool, kids played mahjung, and we went swimming at a deserted island. Nothing much at the beach. The water is super salty and my eyes were very pain after contacting the sea water. There are also many jellyfish.

We watched the kelong staff catch sotong. Too bad we couldn't join in as we didn't bring our own fishing rod and the boss claimed that the fishing rod is not his. Stingy lah. Anyway, it's quite easy to catch the sotong. They just need to use a luminous bait and the sotong will be attracted to it. Really sotong, they can't even differentiate a real bait or a faked one.

Slack at home, surfed net and did some area cleaning. Visited Mum at Sis's house. Sis wil be shifting house in June. Changing to a bigger condo. So rich. Kind of envy her. If only I studied hard when I was young. If only? There's no turning back of time now. Just be contented with what I have.

Helped Mum to rip the CDs and transfer the songs into her new "IPOD". Actually it's those made in China brand that look very much like Ipod. Have a hard time teaching how to operate the "Ipod". Keke.


Karin brought the kids to BP for lunch and to play arcade. She even bought them a pair of shoes each. It's Eat with Your Family Day today and Mil prepared some nice dishes to celebrate this special day. Granny, Aunt and Karin joined us for this year's celebration.

Went home to early to pack the luggage for the trip tmr.

Was having BF at the NTUC Food Court when I looked towards Singapore Pool. Started day dreaming and dreamt that if I ever won $3m in 1 of the Toto draw, both Kennie and I can retire. We can just rely on the interest earned for the rest of our life. I called her to tell her of my dream. Hehe. Walked pass Singapore Pool and found out that there's a $5m Anniversary draw this Fri so I bought $2 quick pick. My dream of being a millionaire is drawing near.

Went to the Teacher-Parents Conference at GRPS.

Veona got band 1 for chinese and Maths, band 2 for Science and English after including the CA1 result. Her Teacher is very concerned on her English result. It will slip to Band 3 if she doesn't put in her best in the next seminster. She will be having extra English lesson when the term starts. Was surprised that Veona seldom talk in class as she's very chatty at home. She seldom participate in class discussion, think she's worried that she might answer wrongly but she's a very responsible gal in class according to her Teacher.

Videl got band 1 for chinese and english, band 2 for Maths. Her Teacher was surprised that her maths result is so low, all tks to her careless mistake. She's helpful in class and always volunteer to help the teacher. She's also does her work fast in class and takes initiative in doing things

Hope that the kids will do better in their next seminster. Guess I need to put in twice as much effort to coach them. Anyway, quite proud and happy to hear postive comments by their Teachers

My post is opened for application already though it's not confirmed when I'm leaving. Received a few emails from frds asking me about my post and why I'm leaving etc.

Went to the kids's school for their Carnival Day. It's a fund raising Carnival for the red cross society. Part of the proceed will go to the cyclone-hit Myanmar and quake victims in Szechuan.

The kids were enjoying themselves selling porridge, biscuits and toys. They really put in 101% of their heart in persuading the adults to but their stuff. A bit disappointed though that we didn't get the chance to try their porridge. As usual, the whole school is polluted with the children's sound.

This is the culprit that caused the canteen to be flooded. Think the whole think burst or what and the water flooded the canteen. Was worried that the kids might slip and fall as they are quite clumsy.
