Day 2 - Surfers Paradise, marketing and shopping

We woke up at around 5am as we were all very excited and the sky was already very bright. Our apartment is just located beside the beach and the view is so nice. Took out my camera and started snapping the nice view. Went to the beach to take more photos. The view was even nicer at the beach with the high buildings beside it. There are people sun tanning, surfing and jogging/strolling at this hour, and the sun is already shining strongly.

As we were afraid of getting burnt, we left after a while and walked over to Surfer Paradise, Cavil Ave for BF. Cavil Ave is where the main action begin and it's located around 1km away (15 mins walk) from our apartment. Actually wanted to stay somewhere there but the rates are much higher compared to ours.

A bit boring cause we had Mac for bf cause Kennie always like to try out other country's Mac. Nothing special as it's almost similar to ours. Then we went shopping at Centro Surfers and Chevron Renaissance, and also to their supermarket, Coles and Woolworth supermarket to buy some groceries. There are so much varieties of things to buy as compared to our boring supermarket.

We rushed back to our apartment to check-in as the reception was already closed when we reached yesterday. Their working hour is really very short. 8 to 5 on weekday, 9 to 3 on Sat and 9 to 1 on Sun. Weather was so hot that it almost kill us just by walking the 1km back our apartment. Suddenly think that we should have stayed at a apartment right at the doorstep of Surfers Paradise. But no choice due to budget constraint.

The rest of the day is just shopping at the same place again and again. Nothing much to buy cause their trend is not like ours but they have lot of of beautiful surf wears and bikini. Anyway, we have anticipated it will be boring today since it's just a warm up for our trip. The sky has darken by 5 and the weather has turned cold. As we heard that there's not much activity at night, we stayed in our apartment for the rest of the night. enjoying home cooked steak and wine. oh yes.. the wine here is dirt cheap.

Day 1 - Changi Airport, Brisbane Airport and Surfers Beachside

We took a train to Changi Airport as it was still early and also to save cost. Had bf at the food court at Basement 1, check-in and did some window shopping at DFS.

The service by Sq was good but the downside is the flight is too long. Cant stand the long hours of sitting and the seat is so cramp. Blame it to my long legs. Next time I must booked the front row even it come with an extra charge.

Our plane touched down at around 7.30pm and the whole airport was deserted. Went over to the coachtrain counter to confirm our transfer which is at 9.15pm. The tickets cost $180 for a family package. The package include to & fro transfer from Brisbane Airport to our apartment and vice versa.

We reached our apartment at around 11.15pm and the receptionist counter was already closed. The key to the main door to our apartment and our rooms were kept in the safe outside the apartment. The combination no. was already emailed to us earlier on. We actually got a good deal for this apartment. It's only $730 as there are having a promotion, free 2 nights stay for every 5 nights. It is a 2 rooms apartment with a living room, dining area and a kitchen. The kitchen comes with cooking utensils, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. There's also washing machine and clothes dryer. Overall there's no complain as it's really a very good deal. We have checked out other apartment and the average cost is $1000 for 7 nights.

It's Fri the 13.. the 2nd Fri the 13 this year. Luckily nothing bad happened today. Busy packing our luggage and feeling so excited that we will be going to GC tmr. But my mind is still at work cause I was worried that things might cope up in office during my absence. I have not been enjoying myself ever since I joined this new Company. Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year and now GC trip. Instead of enjoying the holiday, I would keep thinking of work and work.

Btw, I felt like a D yesterday. Organised some event for the big shot. Shall not mention the details here but anyway just feeling very degrading. But I got to work hand in hand with my S and had earned their respect through the hard work that we had done yesterday.

Kennie was on MC on Mon and Tues. Too bad I couldn't take leave as I have so much work to clear before going for holiday. Anyway, it's good that I didn't accompany her or I would have vomited blood. She's sick but instead of resting, she spend the whole day playing Pet Society. She's so addicted to it that she could play nonstop.

Kids got back their exam results already. Videl got Band 1 for Science and Maths, Band 2 for Chinese and English. Veona almost failed her Chinese and got 70+ for all other subjects. Was really very disappointed with Veona's result. Had put in so much effort to teach her but this is what we get in return. Maybe it's due to the sudden jump from P4 to P5 and so she couldn't adapt to it, or maybe it's because of her tutor? or maybe she's just not cut out to study. sigh.....
