Day 1 Bangkok

It's day 1 of our Bangkok Trip. Woke up at 3+ and catch a cab to the Airport. Flight timing is 7.10 am so need to reach there at 5.10 am. After checking in, we had bf at the staff canteen at T1.

It's the first time we took Jetstar asia and think it's going to be our last too. The seat is quite comfortable but it's too cramp for me. It's also very noisy inside the cabin and the air ventilation is quite bad. The stewardess are not very pretty and some of them are quite old :p

Clearing of custom is quite slow at the new Suvarnabhumi Airport and the Custom Officers don't look too friendly either.

Took a cab to Baiyoke Sky and the cab driver is supposed to go by meter but when we were in the cab, he quoted us 400bht instead. Not wanting to bargain with him, we let him have his way. The fare for Soo Mee and Karin costed 400+ bht thought they go by meter.

We tried to check in but was told that the room will only be ready by 1pm. We were greeted by an unfriendly hotel receptionist and I'm thoroughly disappointed by their (Custom Officers and Hotel Receptionist) behaviour.

We walked to our favourite Wanton Mee at Pratunam but they are open today. We walked over to Pratinum Mall which is a wholesale centre for clothes and there is a very huge Food Court at level 6. We had lunch at the Food Court and only managed to cover level 5 and half of level 4 level before checking in.

Beef Noodle. Average only. Think Sg version is better.

Tom Yam Soup. Very nice. Sour & Spicy.

Thai version of Ang Ku Kueh. Our favourite. 12 for 25Bht

We need to deposit money to this card which we can use in the food court to buy food.

Though we are staying at the Standard zone (22nd to 45th floors) which is cheapest among the 3 zones, the room is very spacious and it's equipped with almost everything. It's definitely value for money.

Continued shopping at Platinum Mall after checking in and we had only managed to comb level 2. Soo Mee and Ah Hock managed to comb the Pratunam area and the whole of Platinum Mall while we only managed to comb level 2. It's really a pain to shop with Kennie and the kids cause they liked almost anything they see.

We had dinner at Baiyoke Sky at the 76th floor. In-house guest is given a 50% discount for the buffet. The food is so so only but the ambience is quite nice. Though the view from the tallest hotel in Bangkok is not really very nice but the experience is good. There's even magic show and musical performance. Went up to the viewing gallery after dinner.

After dinner, we went to the night market just outside our hotel. It's a small-scale night market and there's nothing much there.

I experienced the same pain on my leg again. The same pain I had before I got the slip disc earlier this year. Hope it's not another relapse. I would not be able to go for my bangkok trip if it's another relapse or worse, if the relapse occurred when I'm in Bangkok. Can't imagine how I'm going to crawl back to Sg.

Went to Mil's house to find the kids but left after a while as my back is pain. Changed my mind and went back to Mils house to bring them to BP for dinner as Kennie and I had not taken our dinner yet. A bit funny right? Not really cause we missed them and wanted to spend more time with them. We had dinner at the Hong Kong Tea Restaurant. Anyway the food sucks tonight. I was all praise for this restaurant and thus recommended Kennie to eat.

Cleared all my outstanding work already and t I can go for my holiday with ease.

Went back home to pack our luggage and slept around 2+. Oh no. Not enough sleep as we have to wake up very early tmr.

Feeling so excited that we can get out of Sg for a shopping and eating spree. The sad part is the exchange rate for SGD to Thai Baht has increased from 22.95 to 23.80. It would mean that we made a lost of around 100SGD. If only we changed the Thai Baht now.

Kennie went back office to OT and we accompanied her. It has been quite sometime since she went back on weekend. Had Ah Hwa Ba Kut Teh for bf. The portion seems much lesser and think they use cheapo rice. As usual, teach the kids to study in Kennie's office.


Everything seems ok between us and suddenly we provoked each other and ended quarrelling in her office. Think this is the most heated quarrel after a almost decade.


Kids went for their piano lesson. Kennie and I were both seated at different places while waiitng for the kids


Went to Mil's house. Kevin cooked authentic hakka food aka abacus seed. Heard that they make the dough till 2am in the morning. Tasted quite nice though it's his first time cooking. Brought Mil to the sinseh as her hand is pain again.


Had home cooked porridge and canned food for dinner. I took the first move to apologise to Kennie. Don't wan to drag the quarrel longer or think will end up divorcing.

We are going Bangkok this Thurs.

Had BF with mum. Felt so bad cause I didn't bring the kids along. Was having cold war with Kennie so decided not to bring the kids as well. Help Mum to install the games for her PSP. Quite happening, right? Playing PSP at her age. New age mother. keke. Her skin condition is getting better. Just hope that the medicine that the doc gave her will not have any side effect.

Because of the cold war, we dnded staying at home the whole day on a Sat. Kids did their homework, played piano while we did area cleaning and surfed net.

Training for AHM at ECP. Nice view as it's school holiday. keke Only managed to run 8km instead of 10km as I was having stitch throughout the run. Really very tired after the run. Think I'm really old already

Fetched Kennie's from work and brought the kids for their Piano lesson. Karin brought them to watch Kungfu Panda in the afternoon. I also wan to watch! Dinner at Taman Jurong FC.

Quarreled with Kennie and ended without eating. Wanted to pay for the claypot rice since they have already cooked but they didn't collect from me. Send her home and went to Ms Teh's house to fetch the kids. Cold War with her.

Finally concluded that the magnetic bed is not effective., no significant gain after using a few days. Karen called me again. Couldn't persuade me to buy the stuff. It's not that the magnetic mattress cover is cheap or effective. It cost $2000+ and the effect is just minimal and not like what they claimed to be so effective.

Ran 2.km at 11.30mins. I'm improving. I'm improving.
Super shack after the run. Having headache, must be due to lack of oxygen after chonging in the run.

Lunch at Margeret Drive. It's Aunty's treat again. She simply loves the chicken rice there but the standard dropped tremendously this time. Really horrible. We didn't have another serving of rice which we usually does. Glenn fetched us back to office after lunch. Think Aunty and Boss's balls dropped after sitting on his car as Glenn is quite a reckless driver.

Karen called me when I was on my way back to office. Either she wanted persuade me into buying the magnetic mattress or to join her Co. Told her to call me back 30 mins later as I didn't want the rest to eavesdrop but she didn' call back. Heng ah.

A series of events happened in the office after lunch. Luckily can still go home on time.

Mil told us that Veona is getting more rebellious. Need to told her to do things a few time before she will move her butt. Really very concerned abt her attitude, worried that she might get out of control.

CEO's bday. The upper management pretended to see him for a meeting and after a while, the whole group of us dashed in the meeting room with the bday cake. A bit bo liao.

My heart is already in my new office. When can I be transferred to my new Co.?

Veona is changing her tuition teacher again, from group tuition to individual tuition. It will mean our expense will go up. Just hope that her result can improve even though it's going to cost us more.

Woke up feeling energetic after sleeping on the magnetic mattress cover. Or was it my own thinking that the cover is really so good? Ran 5km at 22.40. Kennie worked overtime so I fetched the kids back so that she could see them when she's back.

It's Veona's Bday today & she's 10 years old already. How time flies.

We woke up early to prepare the food for the picnic, I cooked fried Bee Hoon while Kennie prepare the salad. It's her signature dish with quail eggs, prawns, lettuce, potatoes, cherry tomato, salad cream and thousand island cream. Only fried Bee Hoon and Salad for picnic? There are also longans and grapes. Alison and Karin brought drinks, agar agar, pizza breads, hotdogs, and sandwitchrd.

Picnic at West Coast Park. Was surprised that everyone is on time. After makan, the kids went to play playground, blading and played badminton. Granny vomited as she's not feeling well. Think she likes to eat my bee hoon and so she ate too much thus causing indigestion

After picnic, we went to Tiong Bahru Plaza to collect the Bday cake. Cake cutting at Granny's place. Aunt gave us a magnetic mattress cover as she has extra sets. Will be trying tonight to see if there's any effect on me.
