We met at Changi Village for our breakfast. Following which, we went to the Changi Point Ferry Terminal to board the bumboats to Ubin. Each ride took about 15 to 20 mins and cost S$2.50 per person.
Pulau Ubin is so peaceful and quiet. Things are moving at a slower pace. It reminds me of the good old kampong day in the early 80s.
Our bf at Changi Village.
First thing in Ubin -to rent a bicycle. There are plenty of bicycle shops to choose from and their rental charges (daily instead of hourly rate) are way below those in mainland Singapore! Rented ours for $6.
Following the directional signs, we cycled to Chek Java. Throughout the journey, there are signboards to caution cyclist to slow down and to dismount from their bicycles.
Saw a damn majestic tree along the cycling track.
Finally reached the entrance of Chek Jawa Wetlands. Bicycles are not allowed inside the wetlands so we have to park our bicycles at the bicycle stands before proceeding further.
At the viewing gallery. Overlooking the whole of Pulau Ubin.
At Chek Java Wetlands. There's a stretch of boardwalk available for us to enjoy the scenery, inhale the fresh air, while admiring the coastline of Pulau Ubin.
Walking back to retrieve our bicycles, we saw something which is kinda uncommon in Singapore. There were a drove of wild boars sashaying just before us. They were perpetually undisturbed by us. At first we were worried that they might attack us but they seemed to be quite tame.
Our entire cycling trip took us about 3 hours + to complete while enjoying the scenery at the same time. Definitely enjoyed ourselves. But not sure if we will revisit this place again as lots of blood has been lost. Hungry mosquitoes enjoyed a big feast of our blood.
Lunch at one of the restaurants.
Our dinner at Jurong East. Lousy Western Food.
