After the flooding session on New Year Eve, we pick some lucky no. to buy 4D. As the Chinese saying, water = wealth, so we tried our luck as maybe God is giving us some hint. Hehe. Wasted $7 in the end.
Lunch/Dinner at Tong Chiang Claypot Restaurant at 324 Lavendar St. It's located at a corner coffee shop at the junction of Serangoon Road and Lavender Street. They specialised in claypot rice and Hakka cuisine. Pricing was rather reasonable and portion was generous too. The dishes in the menu that have red dot on them denoted that the dish is of Hakka origin. If you didn't know this you might think those dots indicated chef recommendations. So this is a place to come if you are looking for nice and affordable Hakka cusine.
I love the Suan Pan Zi (算盘子) here. Suan Pan Zi is made of yam and flour that looks like the beads in chinese abacus (算盘). The beads are fried with Chinese mushroom, minced pork, chinese parsley, dried shrimps, and tau kwa. The beads are chewy and overall this dish is extremely savoury Claypot White Wine with Chicken - Tender chicken cooked in Chinese white wine.
Their Speciality - Chicken Claypot rice. I still prefer the claypot rice at Chinatown Market
Hakka Yong Tau Foo.
Salted Vege with Duck Soup. I would say the soup here is disappointing
