Checked out and continue our journey north to KL. Our first desination is at Restoran Overseas at Jalan Imbi. We did not get to eat the honey glazed char siew during our last trip as it was sold out so we called to make pre-order when we were in Sg. The Char Siew has a sweet, sticky and smoky flavour on the outer part while soft inside. It's a bit too fatty but if you like such oily stuff, you will think it's nice as the fatty part will melt in your mouth instantly. To Kennie, it's a complete turnoff as she hates fatty stuff. Not for the weak heart as it will cause heart attack.
The rest of the dishes are just average. We did not order the top notch dishes as the food here is priced at a higher side. Dont think we will come back again as our main objective is to try out their signature char siew.
Char Siew (RM18)
Broccoli (RM16)
Claypot Sea Cucumber(RM 35) Soup of the Day (think it's fish head with mushroom scallop soup) (RM16 for one person portion)
Total cost of this meal (RM144)
(Chinese tea and rice cost RM2.30 and RM.2.20 per head)
Checked in at Piccolo Hotel. Cool. Location was right smack in the heart of the shopping district of Bukit Bintang. Situated right next to a couple of malls including Lot 10 and Farenheit 88. It takes only a few mins walk to Sungei Wang, Berjaya Time Sq, and the famous hawker street Jalan Alor is diagonally opposite.
The room is nicely deco, clean and bright. The toilet and the bathroom is separated but there's no bath tub. Who cares since we will not have the time to use it. The corridor of our level seems eerie though as they only on the dim wall light. Overall the experience is very nice and we will definitely be back if we come to KL again.
Went shopping at Sungei Wang. As usual, bought quite a lot of stuff. Oh no. Ammunition is finishing soon.
Dinner at Wang Ah Wang Restaurant at Jalan Alor. This is our 3rd time here and probably the last. Seriously there's nothing fantastic about the food here but their BBQ chicken wing is the best that we ever had. So may just come here for chicken wing for future visits.
Kids with their new Christmas present (Baby G)
Fried vege (RM13)
Fried KL style Hokkien mee (RM7) Fried Lady Finger's Brother or whatever you call it (RM10) Cockles cooked with dark sauce (RM8) Sambal Stingray (RM29) BBQ Chicken Wing (RM2.40 a piece)
Continued shopping at Berjaya Time Sq after dinner. Yippee... we spend all our money that was set aside for shopping.
Nice Tea Leaf Egg right outside Imbi Station (beside Berjaya Time Sq). The stall owner will help to deshell the egg.
Walked to Tengkat Tong Shin behind Jalan Alor to look for our favourite Man Sook (Slow Uncle) as we were craving for his fried Mee, Kway Teow etc. Sad to say, it's not open. He's also not opened the previous time. We half suspect that he has gone to meet his maker. So sad. God Bless.
