The offering for Granny. It came in the form of crab, chicken, fish etc made from peanut and malt candy.

The Ang Moh Lor Gor (Ang Moh Musical Band) paying their respect to Granny. There are 2 groups of band, 1 is from the funeral package and the other is from her son in law. Under our Chinese custom, the son in law needs to have the Ang Moh Band for her mother in law.

Day 4 of the funeral

Went back to work in the morning and fetch the kids from Mil's house to the funeral. It's the last day before the cremation and the main ritual for Granny will be performed tonight. There's quite a no. of rituals that were performed today. This ritual is to carry Granny's Tablet to cross over some bridge. Is it the infamous Meng Po Bridge to drink the Meng Po Soup? I dont know cause I dont understand what the priest was talking. Geting ready to build the Legendary Sand Fire Dragon We need to walkk around this "Tree" and pluck out the pink packets which contains coins in it. After plucking all the coins, we need to remove al the leaves and twigs. Think it's to help to lighten the suffering that Granny will go through in hell or ?? Putting the coins to the body of the Dragon Grey Grey Sky. Praying to God to stop the rain as the rain will destroy the Dragon and disrupt the ritual. The completed Dragon This is the funny part of the ritual. The monk and the taoist were saying something (they were performing some act) and they ended running around the Dragon and we have to follow behind them. This is not for the weak heart and the older generation as we need to run a few rounds around the Dragons. The final action for the Fire Dragon. The priest started to perform his Gong Fu around the Dragon and splashed water from his mouth on the pot of burning oil at the middle of the 2 Dragons. Dangerous performance as it could burn him if he's not careful. I can feel the heat on me when the water was splashed on the fire. This is the part where everyone was waiting. The Dragons were destroyed and we have to pick up the twenty cent coins from the Dragons' bodies. We will keep the coins as they are supposed to bring us luck. The finale - The house, maids, gold and silver were burn for Granny.
