Malacca Day 1

It's Good Fri and long weekend for us.

Went on a short trip to Malacca. Woke up at 3+ and left for 2nd link at 4+. Drove non-stop and reached Malacca at 7+. Wa super early and nothing to do. Didnt want to be stucked in the jam so left early.

Breakfast at Mac and shopped around Jonkers Street. Most of the shops are not opened.

While waiting for Gerarld and Sharon, I went to recce for the Teochew restaurant that we will be having our dinner. It's quite a popular Teochew restaurant in Malacca and advanced booking need to be made. It's along the alley towards the right side of the famous chicken rice stall.

Met up with Gerald and Sharon. They were in Malacca on Thurs and will be going back tmr.
Our lunch at Nancy's Kitchen. Heard so much positive reviews on it and sad to say, the food doesn't leave up to our expectation. Btw President Nathan makan here before.











Checked in after lunch. The hotel allowed us to check in at 1+ instead of the normal 3 pm. Rested in our room as I was quite tired after the early trip.

Dinner at Portuguese Settlement. Not much crowd today as it's not a public holiday for the Malaysian or because most of them are in the Church.

Mum's Bday

My homecooked BF. Fried Bee Hoon. It's like hawker's standard.

Celebrated Mum's bday at her place. Wish her good health and stay happy and pretty always.

Dinner at Pizza hut @ Bt Timah Plaza.

Kids went for their CCA. We went bf and marketing at Boon Lay FC.

Kids spend the rest of the afternoon doing their hw. Sian. If only they can faster do their work and we can do other meaningful stuff like shopping, jogging etc. Haha... I sound as if doing hw is not meaningful.

Summary for this Week

Oh it's Friday again. TGIF! But weekend will just come and go in a blink. It's going to be a short week next week. Good Fri and we are going to Malacca for the long weekend.

Mon - Japan rattled by 7.1 magnitude aftershock on quake anniversary. When will they be spare of this suffering? There have been hundreds of aftershock after 3 11 and it seems like the magnitude is increasing.

Tues - met with an accident with a taxi. I was on my way home after fetching Videl from tuition and a taxi just dashed to my lane from the filter lane as another taxi was blocking his lane. Lots of scratches at the side of my car. I was too kind hearted cause he offered to pay me only $100 and I accepted it. Anyway my lau pok car is also full of scars and scratches already and it's a matter of time that I repaint the whole car. It pays to be kind hearted cause the scratches turned out to be some glue stick to my car and it can easily be removed. Why glue? I also dont know. Anyway, I'm $100 richer. LOL.

Received the refund from Delta Airline. Hope the travel insurance claim will also go through as well.

Another good news. Pay revision but it's only 1.5%. Haha.

Dealth Ceremony for the 7th Week

Homecooked BF (Smoke Salmon, sausages, omelette and baked beans). Hotel standard. Hehe

It's Granny's qi qi ceremony (the 7th week after she passed away). Usual stuff. Setup her lunch, offer joss sticks and burn the incense papers, clothing, shoes etc. Need to toss 2 coins on the floor and if 1 coin is head and the other is flower, it means that she's back for lunch. After the joss sticks are almost burnt, will need to toss the coins again to ask if she has finished her lunch. Next will be to burn the incense papers etc to her.

Btw, it's Qing Ming Jie these few weeks so the whole place is crowded with people.

Our lunch at Zion FC. Wanted t0 makan at Havelock FC but most of the stalls have closed so went to Zion instead.

Went back home and kids spend the rest of the day doing hw. Sian. Hope school holiday will come soon.

Kids went for their CCA and we had bf at Adam FC again. Finally got to eat the prawn noodle but seems like their standard has dropped. How come the standard of all this nice stalls will drop instead of remaining constant? Weird. Went BP Plaza. Borrowed 3 travel books on South Korea. It will be my aim next year, to go for a Free & Easy trip to South Korea. Seems like it's achievable as most places are easily assessible via subway or bus and the subway ride is quite straightfoward. But that will depend if I can manage to get cheap airfare or not. Conducted tour is a big NO to me. Went back home after fetching the kids back from CCA. Kids doing their homework and I ended dozing off. i just cant stay awake if I have nothing to do. Dinner at Bukit Timah Plaza. Liu San, a Taiwanese restaurant. I will never return to this restuarant again. Call this taiwanese cusine?

Ice Cream session at Dailyscoop. Economy is not good so we only can afford to eat such a small cone of ice cream. Hehe.

Watched Big Momma3 and Green Hornet at home and updating my blog at the same time. Finally finished updating all the outstanding posts less our Japan Trip's. Hope to finish updating within the next 2 weeks. I must set a KPI for updating my blog. Hmmm.. it must be updated within 5 days??? Think it's realisable if I dont procrasinate so much.
