Japan Trip Day 5 - Universal Studio Japan (USJ)

It's Universal Studio today, the highlight for our trip. We have already bought the tickets at JR ticket office at JR Namba station on Sat. We were worried that the tickets might be sold out if we were to buy at the counter. Tickets are super duper ex, 6200 yen ($90+) for adult and 4100 yen ($60) for children.

We bought the Express Booklet 7 at 4500 yen ($70) per pax. This would mean that the cost of adult ticket is $160 and $130 for children. Burn a big hole in my pocket. Bought the Express Booklet as I'm not going to queue for 2hr+ for a ride like what we did in Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea.

With Express Booklet 7, we do not need to wait in a long queue for those popular attractions.

Videl trying out the seat for Hollywood Dream - The ride. 1 of the most exciting rides but too bad couldnt take any photos. Exciting roller coaster rice with built-in sound system located in the headrest. Riders can choose one of a number of songs to hear during the course of the ride.

Terminator 2 - 3D show. This is a combination of a 3D show and real human in action. Was a bit disappointed as the performance was in Japanese. Expect to have this language barrier for other rides as well.

Space Fantasy - The Ride.
A fast indoor rollercoaster takes us through space in a little rollercoaster cars that spin around. The rides is rather dark but you can see that there are plenty of cool looking star fields and other outer space encounters along the way. The lighting on the attraction appears top notch.

We were presented with the Mission Success pass after the ride at xxxx yen (Cant remember the exact amount)

Spiderman ride.
3D simulation ride that really moves on a track, combined with real and screen backdrops plus the 3D added effects. This ride also has water fire effects in it, so we actually got a little wet and can feel the heat.

Sesame Street 4D Movie Magic and Shrek 4 D Adventure. No point watching since everything is in Jap.

Our lunch.

Universal Monsters Live Rock and Roll Show. It's in Jap as well but they sang English Pop and Rock songs.

Peppermint Patty's Stunt Slide

Snoopy's Great Race - A mini indoor rollercoaster for small kids

Snoopy's Playland

The Jaws
After boarding the tour boat, guests learn that they are taking a guided scenic cruise to visit the actual locations of the shark attacks that occurred during that fateful summer of 1974, which were made famous in a big Hollywood movie that was made not long afterwards. Guests were reassured that there wont be any sharks around because the last time anyone had seen a great white shark in the area was back in 1974.
Suddenly, the boat was attacked by a shark. It seems very real as the shark started chasing us and the Captain fired shots on it. After a few rounds of fire, the shark was finally killed.

This is a show with live actors, actress and stunt men in it. There's quite a no. of exciting stunts, fighting, gunshots and explosion. It's in Jap again, but even if we dont understand the language, we do enjoy the show.

Jurasic Park.
In this ride, we sit in a boat which goes around and shows you dinosaurs in their tropical enviroment. Oh but!!!An accident has happend and the boat goes to a prohibited area full of dangerous dinosaurs...T-Rex himself is there to greet you!The ride ends with a huge drop into the water, and we got wet.

Everyone in USJ is eating this fried Turkey Leg.

A simulated ride which takes us through the future, the past and the present. It seems that the car is moving but it's actually stationary. Cool effect.

Was disappointed with the management of the USJ. We did not know that the lockers can only be used for a short period of time and so left our stuff in it the whole day. Ended being fine for it. The use of the lockers are actually FOC for those playing that particular ride near the locker. The coins will be refunded after opening it. But we did not know that it's FOC.

Locker information that tells us that locker must be opened within a certain timing. Who the hell will read that when they are rushing for the rides?

According to the staff, it was announced through the PA system that the locker must be clear within a certain timing or we will be fine. How do they expect us to hear it when it's so noisy.

It was printed on the locker that the coin is returned after use. We didnt take any notice of it since it's not printed on every locker.

Some of the instruction is in Jap so how do they expect us to understand.

Our dinner at the Chinese restaurant near our hotel.
