Though she's not feeling well, we still press on to Disneysea. From Maihama station, we still need to take the monorail to Disneysea. The four-station Disney Resort Line monorail is very nice, everything on the monorail was Disney themed, from the windows, the hand rails, as well as the whole interior. While we were on the train we got a good view of both Disneyland, Disneysea and the Disney resort.
Tokyo DisneySea has an overall nautical exploration theme to it. Unlike Tokyo Disneyland, the overall intention was to create a more adult-themed park, including faster, scarier rides and shows designed more for an older audience. I like the view at Tokyosea as it gives me a Hollywood type of feeling. It seems like we have stepped in to some ancient time.
We arrived at a Disneysea a bit later today and the crowd has already dispersed to the various attractions so can't really compare which themepark is more crowded. Kennie (&Videl) and I(&Veona) got separated twice today. The 2nd time when we got separated is more scary, I rushed to get the fast pass for Journey to the Center of the Earth and when we turned back Kennie and Videl were not behind us. So I got Veona to queue for the fast pass while I went to look for them. Only managed to find them after walking Mysterious Island a few times. Can't imagine if we couldn't find them. We will have to u-turn back to hotel. Veona was also very worried that we will leave her behind.
Kennie continued to queue for the fast pass for Center of the Earth while I went to queue for the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Both rides are based on Jules Verne's books. For 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, although we were never underwater, the special effects made us feel that we are exploring at the bottom of the sea in a submarine. The sets and special effects on this ride are exciting without being scary.
Some nice pictures of Disneysea.
Then we went to queue for the fast pass for Indiana Jones, one of the much anticipated ride. Ride timing is at 5+pm. There goes our plan to go back earlier for Videl to rest.
Ice cream again.
1 of the best ride, Journey to the Center of the Earth. We descend by elevator down the earth's surface to ride the huge drilling machine. In the vehicle, we travel towards the center of the earth, spiraling through caves, surrounded by some alien creatures. At first the ride seems pretty boring but the vehicle suddenly changed to high speed like a roller coaster and it moved up and up and shoot out from the peak of the volcano. The technology built into the cars allow the car to travel smoothly at a variety of speeds. Although it gets pretty speedy at the end, the ride is never rough.
We had Yakitori for dinner which is located at the infamous Yakitori Alley near Yurakucho station . This is the place to visit for Yakitori lover and also a place to see how Japanese salarymen and office ladies spend their night, indulging in yakitori, huge mugs of beer, sake and getting drunk. But be prepared to be polluted by smoke from the men/women smoking in the shop. From Yurakucho station, walk towards Hibiya station and exit at A1 exit. Turn left after exiting A1 exit and turn left again. There are a few Yakitori shops to choose from and they are are all directly underneath the railway line. We go for the one that is the most crowded (crowded with locals and not tourists).
I highly recommended this place for Yakitori which is hard to find it elsewhere. The Yakitori are all grilled to perfection on bamboo skewers and served with a slightly sweet soy-based sauce or simply a light sprinkling of salt which is all a true connoisseur uses to enhance the flavour of the meat.
