My Birth Day. Sob Sob. !'m older by 1 year old

It's my bday again today. Very scary, really very scary. It seems like yesterday that I just said that no matter how I turn my age, I will still be 33 but now I'm already 34.

Send kids to Mil's house and have bf with Kennie at West Coast Market. Send her to work, she couldn't take leave as usual as it's her busiest day of the mth. Went home to slack and update my blog.

Went to visit Mum at sis's place. The standard thing that I must do on my bday. Think that's the only time that I can really chit chat with her without the presence of the kids.

Mum fetching the kids back after school

Crystal drawing a bday cake for me

Naughty Cara wanted to cane me

Mum knew that I like to take photo so she placed Cara and Crystal's food nicely for me to take

Homecooked salad by Bro. Many varieties of fruits and vegetables.

Went to IMM for window shopping. Wanted to buy a GPS but was too stingy. Fetched Kennie from her office. Traffic was so heavy. Super Jam lor.

Dinner at Kims' Family Food, a Korean Restaurant at Lorong Kilat (near Upper Bukit Timah and Beauty World, beside Udders ice cream). This restaurant actually caught our eyes when we went to Udders previously. What caught my eye was this homestyle Korean restaurant that was full of diners – both Koreans and locals. That’s a good sign, right? This restaurant is actually run by Korean.

After placing our order, the complimentary banchan (side dishes) arrived quickly. That's a good thing about Korean restaurant. The banchan have so many varieties, it will fill our stomach just by eating that.

For the main dishes, we orderd the BBQ set which consist of pork and beef and also the Spicy Octopus Hotpot. I actually wanted to order more but the waiter/boss said it's enough for the 4 of us. Actually I didnt know it will come with the complimentary banchan intially. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes cause I just felt that the food is not really that nice, a bit tasteless imo. Or maybe because I dont really like Korean food.

But I will still be back to try the rest of their menu but must definitely do some homework in the net to check out their Specialities before going again.

My bday present from Karin. Very innovative right? Durian from Dempsey Road. She waited for us for an hour +. Actually wanted to give me a surprise but we came back late. The durian is not really very nice as it's not the durian season yet.

A lazy Sunday

Sun

Didnt really go anywhere today. Just stayed at home to do homework and slack. Dinner at Le Gourmet at West Coast. Sound like some restaurant's name, right? Le Gourmet is actually a western food stall located at a coffee shop at West Coast, right opposite the Esso pump station.
West Coast.
The portions are generous and the food are aesthetically arranged! If you like ASTONS or Botak Jones, then you would definitely give double thumbs up to Le Gourmet. They have pretty similar concepts but with a wider array of choices.

Next we went to Dailyscoop for ice cream again. They have just newly renovated after the shop caught fire mths back. Still the best ice cream we have eaten.

Earth Day and my Bday's celebration

Sat

Kids went for their GB while we met up with Joan and Edwin for BF at Bukit Timah FC. TCSS session with them.

Dinner at Pu Tien Restaurant at Vivo City. Actually it's to celebrate my bday cause my bday is just this coming Wed. Will be too lazy to go out on weekend so celebrated earlier.

Pu Tien 莆田 is the name of a coastal city in the Fujian Province of China. The people from this city are known as Heng Hwa/Hing Wa and they form a minority Hokkien community in Singapore.

Prices are reasonable and quality of food is fabulously delicious.

Drunken Cockles. Something unique. Next time I will create a drunken sotong or drunken crab dish. Haha

The 9 layer braised pig intestines. If you like intestines, this for you.

1 of their signature dish. Fried Yam, looks simple but very nice

Steamed bamboo clams with garlic.

Hing Hwa Bee Hoon. Fine Bee Hoon cooked with lots of other ingredients. Something special as they added in clam. Given me some idea for my next cooking

Something we realised is that they like to add in lots of garlic in all their dishes. Not recommended for those who dont eat garlic or breath conscious person.

Btw, it's also Earth Hour at 8.30pm. Shouldn't we love the earth every moment and not wait till Earth Hour then we show our love to her?

Shopped around Vivo for a while and left for Ayer Rajar Food Centre to look for the newly opened ice cream shop, Ice Cream Frenzy. They have quite a wide range of flavours but none beats Dailyscoop's. The serving is also quite pathetic.

As Kennie couldnt find a flavour she wanted, we dropped by Dailyscoop to Dai Bao a scope of ice cream for her.

A Busy Week

A busy week has passed, meetings, work, normal routine. Though I'm busy in my current job but I'm actually much happier. Good Bosses, good colleagues and staff and lunch kakis. Another good news to boast my morale, MAC and good PB in April.

Was still sick for the whole week, only recovered on Fri. Took and failed my IPPT on Thurs. I was sick and have not been training, so didnt really push myself to pass. I'm going back to RT again. What a waste of time.

Think I'm addicted to travelling. Planning our next trip for next year already. Where would be a good place for F&E, Korea or Hokkaido? Haha.. no money lah.

A Blue Weekend

Sat
We touched down at around 2.30am. Almost need to split into 2 cabs as we have too many luggages and small bags. But luckily managed to squeeze into a red wish. The weather was still quite cooling as it has been raining for the past week. Its Veona's turn to fall sick. Vomitted twice and had slight fever.

Did some packing and slept at around 5+. Woke up at around 2+. Busy clearing the mess, washing the clothes and kids doing their homework.

Sun
Nothing much for today. Visited Mum and Mil to give them some goodies from Japan.

Now it's Kennie's turn to be sick. She's feeling feverish and having a sore throat.

Gonna be a busy week ahead. Sian.. feeling the Mon blue already.

Day 7 Tokyo Trip

It's my turn to fall sick today, having running nose and fever. Kennie keep nagging at me, saying that I must have caught a cold as I didn't want to wear a scarf, gloves and hat yesterday. She has been asking me to wear them as it's really very cold but I was too stubborn to do it.

Veona sleeping so comfortably under the quilt

Our Bf - Instant noodle/ramen. Everything in Japan tasted so nice, even their instant noodle tasted exceptionally nice.

The ferry service from Kawaguchiko station to K's house and vice versa

The view of our hotel.

Final picture of Mt Fuji. It's still covered by cloud.

Had Hoto Noodles for lunch again. Think this is also 1 of the famous Hoto Noodles restaurant in Kawaguchiko which is located directly opposite Kawaguchiko station. Oh btw, so paiseh, my legs stinked today and we had to took off our shoes while we were in the restaurant. Kennie and the kids were complaining that it stinks. Haha... not sure if the waitress smell it or not.

The noodles here tasted very nice too. Comparable to yesterday's but think they have limited varieties. For Hoto noodles, they only have 1 variety, noodles topped with mushroom, yam ball, vegetables and pumpkin.

Back to Tokyo after a 2 hour bus ride from Kawaguchiko.

Honey Bar selling nice fruit juice. You can find one at most JR line

Checked in at Toyoko Inn, luckily none of our luggages is missing. Initial plan was to go Harajuku to do some last minute shopping but plan was cancelled as I was not feeling well. Kennie must be feeling very sad as she has planned to go there to hoot as much as she can. So to compensate her, brought her to Tobu shopping centre to buy bags instead. Some of the branded stuff like Agnes B, Longchamp and Burberry Blue Label are actually cheaper then Sg.

Our dinner at a Standing Sushi Bar near our Hotel. Quite cheap and nice. Around $10+ for a set of 1o pieces sushi.

Went searching for the giant sized Takoball which is located diagonally beside Tokyu Hands Ikebukuro. The size of the Takoball is bigger then my fist. They have many different types of filling that we can choose from but after trying it, we still felt that the normal Takoball tasted much better. Dont' really like it as the skin of the takoball is a bit like chewing gum, very chewy and hard.

A visit to the famous Tokyu Hands dept store. They have actually quite a no. of store in Tokyo. Tokyu Hands focuses on hobby, home improvement and lifestyle products, spread across seven storey with a different concept on every storey. Would like to spend more time there if I'm not sick. So many Kawai stuff to see and buy. It's a blessing atually or it will burn a big hole in my pockets.

On the top floor (8F), there's Nekobukuro, a Cat’s House. It’s set up for apartment-bound city dwellers to have the chance to play with the 20 or so resident cats. Entrance fee is abt $10 and you get to play with the cats
Went back rest early as I was feeling terrible. Slept early after eating double dosage of children's panadol. sad sad.. this is how we spend our last night in Tokyo.
