As usual Kennie couldnt take leave on my Bday as it's month end and she's super duper busy. Bf with kids at Mac before they went to school. Then went home to slack and visited Mum. Must visit my dear Mum during my Bday. To show my appreciation for bringing me into this world. She cooked Mee Sua for me.

Wanted to go shopping but my clothes stink after all the sweating.. Not sure if I'm paranoid or what but I always think my clothes stink. Hope ppl around me didnt smell it.  Went home. Surf net, took a nap and dinner at Mil's place.

Qingming festival (Tomb sweeping Day) is just around the corner so we went to Fong Yun Thai to pay a visit to Granny. Qingming festival is regarded as one of the most important festivals for the Chinese. Cleaning the tomb and paying respect to the dead relatives with offerings are the two important parts of remembering the past relatives. Weeds around the tomb are cleared away and fresh soil is added to show care of the dead. The dead person's favourite food and wine are offered to them, along with burning of Joss paper. This is all burned in the hope that the deceased are not lacking food and money. Today, with cremation taking over from burying, the custom has been extremely simplified. Only flowers are presented to the dead relatives and revolutionary martyrs. No matter how respect is shown, good prayers for the deceased are expressed.

Kennie backed muffin today. Her first attempt to bake muffin. Chocolate muffin using wheat flour. A healthier alternative as compared to normal flour. She combined the muffins and made it into a Bday cake for me. But Veona scolded Videl and I just flared up and ended not blowing the candles. I felt so bad as I spoil this happy occasion that I walked to Lot One to cool down. I shouldnt have flare up. Sigh.

Friday
Attended Parent Teacher Meeting today. Both their term 1 results are really very bad especially for Veona. The Principal even requested to talk to me as Veona is in the bottom 10%day of the Sec 4 cohort. She was actually quite encouraging. Told me that her results will improve during the prelim and subsequently should be able to do well for the O level. Ya. I really hope it will turn out to be like what she said.

Saturday
Shopping at Bedok Mall before Veona's dental appt. Bf at Canto Paradise. Dont think we will ever dine here again. Jcube's canton Paradise is so much better than this.

Sis gave me a Bday treat today. The Penang Hawkers' Fare Buffet is back to Singapore again. It's more than 10 years since I had the Penang Hawkers' Fare Buffet. Limited choices but they have all the Penang specialties. My favourite would be the Prawn Noodle followed by Char Kway Teow and Fishball noodles. 

Earth Hour. Do our part to protect our Mother Earth. and not just today.
